1. Seth Rollins
WrestleMania 41 set up a huge course change for Seth Rollins. Instead of being one of the most beloved good guys on the roster, he formed a new alliance with Paul Heyman and recruited Bron Breakker as his enforcer. Outside of John Cena and his plans to be the last “real” champion in WWE, Rollins is now the top heel in the promotion until further notice.
2. Jey Uso
While some weren’t in love with the idea of a Jey Uso title win at WrestleMania, no one can deny how over he is with the audience. His merchandise sales and fan interactions weekly prove that. However, he is an underrated in-ring performer. He doesn’t deliver bangers every week, but he has been part of some great matches over the last year. His world title defense against Seth Rollins on Raw was outstanding and proves he is a no-doubt main event performer.
3. Randy Orton
The mystery of who Randy Orton would face at ‘Mania was one of the more fun storylines in recent weeks. The reveal of TNA World Champion Joe Hendry and then hitting him with a pair of RKO’s were highlights of WrestleMania 41 night two. However, the company has chosen to maintain that momentum and used it to see up a “playing the hits” moment in the main event of Backlash against John Cena.
4. Jacob Fatu
Despite being a nasty heel, Jacob Fatu is fast becoming one of the most popular performers on the roster. He is shockingly athletic for his size and is a very believable character who has connected with the audience. The company having him win the US title at ‘Mania and keeping him strong over the last year proves how much WWE believes in his upside.
5. John Cena
Despite running down fans on a weekly basis, the WWE universe can’t help but love evil John Cena. While his record-setting title win at WrestleMania did not come in a very good match, he still remains one of the company’s most interesting characters. Revisiting his legendary feud with Randy Orton was a smart way to go, and they likely will be a better combination in the ring at this late stage of their career.
6. Damian Priest
Although Damian Priest lost at WrestleMania 41, his match with Drew McIntyre was one of the best on the card. However, over the last month, he has been strong in and outside of the ring and has been able to maintain relevancy with zero connections to the Judgment Day. He is in very good matches weekly and is one of the more believable characters on any show.
7. CM Punk
It is not easy being a few years away from 50 and competing with two elites of the industry in their “wrestler prime.” However, CM Punk kept pace with Roman Reigns and Seth Rollins at WrestleMania like only a true legend can. He performed well and was a massive part of the build to their triple-threat main event. He has continued to play a key role in building up Seth Rollins’ new alliance to be one of the most feared groups in the company.
8. Bron Breakker
Bron Breakker had several cool moments in the lead-up to WrestleMania 41. Then he was part of one of the best matches on either night, despite losing his IC title. However, the reveal that he is aligning with Seth Rollins and Paul Heyman has thrust him even further into the spotlight. “The Bad***” has become, arguably, Raw’s most dangerous man with those two backing him.
9. Lyra Valkyria
Lyra Valkyria was already one of the best female wrestlers in WWE. She proved that in NXT and has been very good on the main roster. However, her character bordered on goody-goody, and that is a big no-no with fans right now. However, she had delivered in a big way in her new feud with “The Man.” She has added the confidence and a bit of cockiness necessary to connect with modern fans. Now, she is not only a damn good wrestler but a character that has gotten way more interesting in recent weeks.
10. Cody Rhodes
Cody Rhodes did the best he could with a weird situation over the weekend. He looked very strong in the lead-up to WrestleMania 41, but you can only do so much in a match with a 47-year-old performer with a lot of wear and tear. His bout on night two was alright, and having to interact with Travis Scott was something he just had to do as part of his job. Since he has been MIA since Mania, he drops to the pack of our latest WWE power rankings.
